The Keystone Center of the Arts (the art studio/office building which doublescoop resides in) hired us recently to revamp their building signs. We replaced both the more permanent ones (floor markers, exit signs, etc.) and their more transient (tenents) throughout the building in complimentary style and tone. The more perminent signs we screenprinted onto prefinished maple, but we were faced with a conundrum regarding the practicality and the costs associated with printing temporary signs in a building with a high turnaround rate. We advised to keep it cheap and simple by printing on a recycled cardstock at the local high end printer. That way with a template in place, new tenent signs are quick, cheap and easy, while still having the touch of class a textured recycled stock and a nice digital print gives.
We hung the final product last weekend, though still have to make the placard for the second floor directory, which we expect to complete in the next couple weeks.
