Dreaming of Sugar Plums...

Hello all y'all,
Hope the holidays are treating you well. We've been keeping cold and busy down on Doublescoop Lane. Our little corner of the world has been bombarded by snow (very unprecedented). Yup; I've been walking into the office the past few days, balancing on ice in rain galoshes...

Anyway, like I said, we've been keeping ourselves busy, through both ice and rain, sleet and snow...just like mailmen... Between designing photography books for a kpstudios, printing shirts and album covers for Knw-Yr-Own records, creating Olympic Legal Service's slick new logo, and getting in snow fights, we've barely had a chance to catch our breath.

Here are a few snaps of what the Knw-Yr-Own records folks had us doing...

Snazzy new label shirts...

We also printed up a ton of new Gift Machine covers, but the photo is just not loading! I guess you'll have to be surprised...They'll be that much cooler after the second screen anyway...

You can find all this stuff on www.knw-yr-own.com. The clothes are for sale there now and the Gift Machine album, "Goodnight Goodluck" is coming out in February. (And there's a new free Christmas EP out on their site as of 2 days ago, from one of the best bands I've heard in years, for serious, PHOTOSYNTHESIS)

And on that note, keep warm, keep good jams on the stereo, don't take yourself too seriously, don't doubt yourself too much, and hug your nearest loved one...

Hearts,
Kat at Doublescoop

The Guemes Ferry Hat

Anderson's General Store, one of the best mom and pop shops in the state of Washington (if not the entire country), hired us to design a new embroidered Guemes Island hat for them a few weeks back. Depicting the ferry traveling the stormy channel between Anacortes and Guemes Island, we attempted to bridge the gap between more traditional touristy imagery and something more
handmade and authentic.

Below are a couple of photos of the work in progress, as it found it's way through drafts on my computer:

I'll make sure to let y'all know when the hats get back, so you can see the finished version!

Stuart & Caan

So the folks at Knw-Yr-Own Records hired us to layout and package their new release from Stuart & Caan, "The Mayfly Dance".  It's looking pretty amazing and something about the recycled packaging with the intricate b&w offset printing looks a hell of a lot better than I originally thought!  The packaging is an arigato pack from the folks at Stumptown Printers and we screenprinted the insert at our studio.  I think they're releasing this in late February so look for it at the record stores then.
